Why are sweet potatoes good for people with Parkinson’s?
They’re a super source of vitamin A and beta-carotene, low in calories, and high in fiber, especially if you eat the skin. A single 4-ounce sweet potato with skin has about one-third of your vitamin C needs for a day, too.
However, for some people with Parkinson’s there may be an added benefit. Some people find that eating sweet potatoes relieves constipation. Whether it does or not, though, it’s an antioxidant powerhouse to add to your disease-fighting arsenal.
